Protecting your NFTs with Harpie.io and KeepKey Desktop
A on-chain firewall, and contract insight

If you use a hardware wallet, are your assets always protected?
False.
Kevin Rose was using MetaMask and a Ledger hardware wallet. He was a victim of a phishing hack where he was asked to sign a transaction he thought was safe. Because of a lack of transaction insight, he had all his assets stolen despite using a hardware wallet.
So how do I protect myself and my assets when using a hardware wallet?
You must remain vigilant and understand and verify every contract interaction you sign. To do this, you must gain insight into what you are signing!
Isolating high-value assets, such as NFTs, in a savings account separate from your day-to-day hot wallet is strongly recommended!
You can do this by maintaining multiple physical KeepKey devices, or for more convenience, you can use additional accounts on a single device. (Additional accounts can be created in the accounts tab of the app.)
Funds isolated into multiple accounts can NOT affect each other.

Introducing Contract Insight by Harpie.io
Below we are connected to a dApp with WalletConnect inside KeepKey’s dApp store

Harpie.io gives you real-time insight into the contract interaction you are about to authorize BEFORE you sign a transaction. Let’s go over the information/insight that you gain by using KeepKey Desktop over other applications.
“Is this contract action dangerous?”
By analyzing and simulating the execution of the contract interaction, Harpie.io is giving you insight into the risk factor of the action taken. Just because an action is dangerous doesn’t mean it’s malicious; however, if this field is true, extra caution should be taken before signing.
“Is this contract malicious?”
Harpie.io tracks malicious contracts on the network; scammers and known bad actors are identified. It is strongly recommended you reject any transaction that is flagged as malicious.
“Is this contract trusted?”
Harpie.io maintains a large whitelist of known contracts in the ecosystem. You can be confident that a transaction with a known actor is much less likely to be a scam or phishing transaction if this flag is true.
Just because a contract is not in the whitelist does not mean it's guaranteed to be malicious or a scammer. New undiscovered contracts will not be known to Harpie.io. In this case, you must provide more effort yourself to verify what contract you are interacting with.
Introducing Harpie.io active firewall for protecting High Value NFTs
Harpie.io can also provide a real-time firewall for your assets. This means they actively scan the mempool and will attempt to intercept your NFTs in the event of a malicious contract interaction. You can opt-in to this program by going into the Harpie.io dApp in our dApp store and authorizing their protection service to intercept malicious interactions. They do this by moving your assets to a safe location before scammers can access them.

In the Harpie.io dashboard, you can manage these advanced features.
